There these science enemies demand "No new oil and gas sources". But these new oil and gas wells are essentially to replace drying up old wells. But an oil price crisis can quickly turn into a starvation crisis if poor farmers can't afford diesel for irrigation pumps. Of course, an irrigation system with photovoltaics would be better, but you just can't replace all that in a year. The world production of photovoltaic is currently only 40 watts per year per inhabitant.

Most importantly, the target back to 350 ppm CO2 must be in place. We are currently 70 ppm away from the 350 ppm target and moving and 2 ppm per year in the wrong direction.

Filtering and splitting for this one ppm costs 46,800 TWh.

In January, I visited a professor at the Vienna University of Technology who is researching this technology. It only needs enormous amounts of electricity, which can only be generated with photovoltaics. For this, the photovoltaic industry must still grow by almost 2 orders of magnitude. Is that possible? Sure, since 1990 the photovoltaic industry has grown by almost 4 orders of magnitude, about 6,000 times more production. But for this, global prosperity is a prerequisite, i.e. the opposite of what the degrowth and austerity restriction renunciation fanatics demand.
